Biding My Time

I’m biding my time until:

I can run again.

my compression sleeves come in (no, yesterday apparently wasn’t the magic day).

I see my best friend.

my dryer works again.

the repair man comes to make my dryer work again (my scheduled time is sometime between 8am and 5pm today. Glad they could narrow that down).

my kids figure out that “doing the dishes” includes the ones that don’t fit in the dishwasher.

my new shoes come in the mail!

the race in January.

the cooler temps hang around permanently.

they make a self-cleaning house (who “they” are, I’m unsure, but “they” need to hurry “themselves” up).

Lots of things to look forward to, and to be patient about. For most of these things (in fact all of them) I want to scream “Come on, HURRY UP!” but I’m almost 40, and realize doing so would be childish…. so I refrain (although I might do that to the repair man).

Jim is on the mend! It no longer hurts to walk, and going up and down the stairs is MUCH better. Only the slightest bit of pain, and only if I use my toes too much (I’m not sure that even makes sense, but sometimes I go upstairs on my tip toes… never said I was normal). SO… Saturday is looking good. If / when I run on Saturday I will take it very easy and wear my compression sleeves proudly. I’ll even get to try out my new shoes! Whoop!!

I’ve missed my runs more than I thought I would have, and that’s kinda freaky. I’ve gone from a person who always said she’d only “run if some big person intent on my bodily harm” was chasing her, to a weirdo who misses running. When, exactly, did that happen?!

FYI: A few of giveaways here (Brooks shorts or jacket), here (yurbuds earbuds), here (OutsidePR goodies), here (Running Chics shirt), here (another OutidePR goody bag) and here (GU products). Go check them out, the worst thing that could happen is that you win!

Have a great Wednesday!

UPDATE:

I’m now wearing my compression sleeves! Patience does pay off….

  1. way to go jim!

i went months with a broken dryer… actually i don’t think it was ever broken. i heard a weird pop noise once and was afraid if i used it again it would set on fire. anyway, i eventually got a new one. basically, it sucks not having a dryer!

  2. “…. I want to scream “Come on, HURRY UP!” but I’m almost 40, and realize doing so would be childish…. so I refrain (although I might do that to the repair man).”

It’s BEING 40 that gives you that right! Scream, dance, play….they’re all yours. Do what you like ~ but be kind to the repair man. He might be having an equally rough week, perhaps wanting to scream, too. 😦
